Steve P. Laughlin was born and grew up in the Ozarks.   After high school Steve enlisted in the United States Marine Corps.   After serving seven glorious years Steve came back to the Ozarks and started working for the United States Post Office.   After six years of doing factory like work Steve decided to start his own personal business on the side.   In 2003 SPL Skidsteer Services, LLC was created.   With a used Scat Trak and several attachments.   The company provided landscaping/yard work for customers throughout the Springfield community.

As the up and coming compact equipment industry was growing by leaps and bounds Steve saw a need for an efficient, labor saving, and affordable way to clear land.   As skid steer loaders got more powerful and forestry industry companies started to downsize their large tree mulching machines a very nice union was made.   In the beginning of 2006 SPL Skidsteer Services purchased the Fecon bull hog tree shredder and a new Bobcat S250 loader to handle the tree shredder.   SPL Skidsteer also changed its name to Skidsteer Plus Landclearing to better reflect the direction the business was pursuing.   With this new endeavor the future looks very bright for the company!

2008 marks the beginning of the third year in the tree mulching/landclearing business.   With several new equipment purchases over the last year SPL has been fine tuning its capablites to server our customers needs.   Steve has been working hand in hand with several Missouri Conservation Department agents and has been busy trying to restore the local forests that were devastated from the recent ice storms and other natural disasters.
